Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
From an early age, Dr. Rakowsky knew he wanted to have a lifelong career in the medical profession. He eventually chose dentistry because it allowed him to be in charge of his own business and successfully help patients achieve great dental health. All these years later, Dr. Rakowsky still feels confident that he made the right decision.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After graduating from Penn State, Dr. Rakowsky pursued his dental doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He has also completed continuing education at the world-renowned Dawson Academy and Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, further expanding his clinical skillset with a particular focus in cosmetic dentistry. He is currently a proud member of both the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Rakowsky and his wife Cathy have been married for 35 years, and have three grown children named Evelyn, Maggie, and TJ. When he isn’t busy caring for patients at the dental office, his favorite hobbies include playing golf, fishing, working out, traveling, and (of course) spending quality time with his family.
What many people don’t know at first about Dr. Rakowsky is that he has a very sports-centered background! He earned five varsity sports letters at Penn State in football and baseball and is a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. He also coached high school basketball for two full decades, only recently retiring from it.
